GH Female Musician Appreciation Month

April is marked in many places around the world as Jazz Appreciation Month. Let’s modify that into a celebration of an appreciation for our local GH female musicians. Today, we celebrate…

18. Xali Hali

Also referred to as Queen Xali and Nubian Goddess, Xali Hali offers vibrant stagecraft and generally positive lyrics. Reggae /Dancehall fans have come to know and love her brand and she’s steadily steering her career ahead. She was a key part of Knii Lante’s Big Hills band and has also performed with acts like Samini, Afro Moses, and Blakk Rasta. Her participation in the MTN Hitmaker Six contest in 2017 generated more fans for her. She was the headline act on the Heeplex Tour which performed in some pubs and clubs across the country in 2018 and 2019. Some of her popular songs, Faya and Look Upon Me included, show her as an Afrocentric woman who treasures the history of her people and eager to see a prosperous, forward-looking, and united Africa.
