8. Essi
Maame Elizabeth Esi Awortwe, who performs under the name Essi, won TV3’s Talented Kids contest in 2011. It was clear, even then, that she had a burning desire to make an impact as a singer. She performs with the Essi Band. Her first single, Dreams, came out in 2015. She released another single, Low, in 2021. Essi is a Fine Arts undergrad at the University of Ghana, Legon but finds time to perform and record. She’s a bubbly personality on stage and is well on her way toward getting the bigger attention she deserves.
